The Transition Map

Read your own threshold clearly enough to know what to do next.

One quiet hour with a pen. This will not solve your transition. It will do something more useful first: it will let you see it clearly. The clarity is the beginning of the redesign.

Print this page and write by hand, or type straight into the boxes. Typed words stay on your device; nothing is sent to me.

Solve et Coagula. Dissolve what no longer holds. Keep what is true. Recombine it into something more alive.

We walk it in three moves.

I

Separate · see the whole system

Before you touch anything, see it whole.

1. Name the structure that no longer fits, plainly. The role, the relationship, the identity, the chapter. Just name it.

2. What specifically stopped fitting? Not the whole thing. The exact part. ("The title still fits. The schedule does not.")

3. Sort what is in front of you into three piles. Structure (the real, fixed facts), Story (what feels fixed but is a belief), No longer yours (expectations and roles you have outgrown).

4. What is the root pattern underneath all of it, the one you have not said out loud? Write the sentence you have been avoiding.

II

Purify · decide what to set down

Redesign begins with the hard, clarifying cut.

5. From your "Story" and "No longer yours" piles: what are you ready to set down? Be specific, and honest about the cost.

6. Who will be disappointed when you set it down? Name them. This is usually the real reason it has not happened yet.

7. What are you NOT willing to set down, no matter what? These are your non-negotiables. The salt worth keeping.

8. One sentence: what becomes possible if you actually make the cut?

III

Recombine · build from what is true

Build the next chapter from what survived.

9. Picture the next chapter as already real. What does it feel like on an ordinary Tuesday morning? Feeling first. The plan comes after.

10. From your non-negotiables, name the two or three things the next chapter must be built around.

11. What is the smallest first move you could make in the next seven days that would be real, not just planning?

12. What support or structure would make that move stick?

The one move

Look back at number 11. That is your first true move. Not the whole map. The first step that is actually yours to take. Take it this week.

When you want the rest of the map

This is the first thing I do with every client.

See the whole system, name what is true, design the next chapter on purpose. If you want it done together, with someone who can hold both the feeling and the plan, that is a Clarity Call. You leave clearer than you arrived, regardless of what you decide next.
