Apothecary N’ BlissA deeper layer of the work

The Deeper Art

Solve et Coagula, all the way down.

The generative act is subtractive.

On the surface, my work redesigns lives. Beneath it runs an older art, the one the alchemists called spagyric, from the Greek to separate and to gather back together. This is the layer for anyone who wants to know what's actually happening underneath the redesign.

The Art Itself

In the lab, potency never comes from adding to the plant. It comes from solve et coagula: you separate the parts, calcine the salt down to white ash to burn off the inert and the corrupting, and only the purified remainder is worth recombining. The craft is the discipline of what you remove.

Say it in the language of signal and the same shape appears. A signal isn't the most-received thing: a maximally sensitive receiver picks up pure noise. Signal is whatever survives the receiver's rejection of everything else. The white ash and the discarded noise are the same act. The discrimination isn't the cost of the perception. It is the perception.

The Tria Prima

Three essences, in everything.

Separate any system (a plant, a life, a body) and the same three essences appear. The work is to purify each, and recombine only what's true.

Sal

Salt: the Body

What is fixed and real. The matter, the ground, the structure you actually stand on.

Sulphur

Sulfur: the Soul

What a thing is for. The essence, the character, the reason it is itself.

Mercurius

Mercury: the Spirit

What moves and connects. The life that animates the whole: breath, vitality, momentum.

The Move, Every Time

Once you hold it as one pattern, it tiles across everything. The failure mode is almost always additive, the instinct toward more: more open, more inclusive, more accumulated, one more pass over the undifferentiated whole. It feels like generosity and reads as rigor, and it dilutes potency every time.

What's the subtractive move here, and have I had the nerve to make it?

The plant, the page, the cohort, the self: the same question. It's the whole of the method on the Transition Architect side, too; here it simply has its true name.

Coming Into Being · A First Look

A medicine made for one body. Yours.

What is taking form under this name is simple, and old. A shelf of single-plant spagyrics, each one distilled and purified by my own hand, body and soul and spirit kept whole. You will not be handed a protocol. You will be invited to feel: to let your own body say which plants are yours. The mind guesses. The body knows.

Then I do the one thing that cannot be rushed or mass-made. I recombine the two or three that are yours into a single medicine, blended for you and no one else. Made, not manufactured. It begins as something I craft and send to you. It is becoming a place: a hut where you sit with the living plants themselves and choose in silence.

Leave your name and I'll find you when the first medicines are ready.
